Acts of Faith (Drama Group)
Led by Cathy Hutzel
Acts of Faith is a play on words, since dealing with plays and its sections are divided into acts and scenes. That is also why the players are called actors. The players are ‘acting out’ the acts (story) before them. Our repertoire will consist of all types of performing mediums. We’ll explore any avenue of interest, because people are very visual learners and the different types of visualization can, not only enhance the observer’s understanding of the message, but broaden the actor’s understanding through the hands on approach of performing the word. We will learn by utilizing choral reading and readers theatre, which will take only minimal preparation, right on through to major Broadway musical-style productions, which will need many weeks of preparation. Our goal is to help anyone who loves the theatre increase their willingness to step outside their comfort zone and try new things through drama; all for the glory of our Lord.
